Tasmania Blackwood is possibly the most successful and famous Australian guitar timber. Its beautiful grain and acoustic qualities have made it a prized timber for the backs and sides of acoustic guitars. It is also an excellent tonewood for electric guitars.
The timber is medium weight, resonant and relatively easy to work with.
